This course covers the basic steps involved in setting up an Internet firewall, and provides hands-on training to manage a FireWall-1 installation. CCSA is a foundation level certification that validates a candidates ability to configure and manage fundamental implementations of Check Point's product, FireWall-1, as an enterprise level Internet security solution to protect corporate networks. As a CCSA, security professionals possess the requisite skills to define and configure security policies that enable secure access to information across corporate networks. In addition to these essential skills, CCSA's also have the ability to monitor network security activity and implement measures to block intruder access to networks.

To earn CCSA CP 2000 certification, candidates must pass:
Exam #156-205: VPN-1/FireWall-1 Management I - CP2000 (Passing exam 156-205 earns candidates Check Point Certified Security Administrator version CP 2000 (CCSA CP 2000) certification.)

VPN-1/FireWall-1 Management I - CP2000 covers the following topics:

  • Define, administer and troubleshoot an active security policy
  • Deploy and manage distributed security gateways
  • Improve VPN-1/FireWall-1 performance using a security policy
  • Perform basic log management operations
  • Block intruder from accessing the network
  • Set up user, client and session authentication in a VPN-1/FireWall-1 environment
  • Configure and set up network address translation (Static NAT and hide NAT)

  • Check Point Certified Security Expert - CCSE
    CCSE certification is recognized as the industry standard for Internet security certifications. CCSE's possess the knowledge and expertise to configure VPN-1/FireWall-1 as an Internet security solution and virtual private network (VPN) that securely connects corporate offices and remote workers, protecting information exchange and granting access to network resources. CCSE training and testing builds on CCSA training by including an in depth study of encryption technologies and how to implement site-to-site and remote access VPNs. CCSE's are also tested for skills to configure content security by enabling Java blocking and anti-virus checking.

    To earn CCSE CP 2000 certification, candidates must pass:

    Exam #156-305: VPN-1/FireWall-1 Management II - CP2000

  • Set up VPN desktop policies and use Security Configuration Verification
  • Configure content security to enable Java blocking, URL filtering and anti-virus checking
  • Use SYNDefender to protect against denial of service (DoS) attack
